Men of Reddit, what are somethings a mom should know while raising a boy?

Growing up I was never hit or punished or grounded if I made a mistake. Instead, my parents would teach me the gravity of my errors, and teach me to understand the consequences of my actions. They’d teach me how not to make those mistakes again, and how to apologize and respect the people who were on the receiving end of whatever I had done.

And since this comment thread has numerous masturbation jokes... respect that it’s a natural thing and teach him how to look up his curiosities in a safe way. I was a very curious teen boy and my parents told me not everything online is “safe” with online predators and computer viruses etc. They gifted me numerous (and I mean a LOT) of magazines. But with that “gift” came the disclaimer that beauty isn’t just what’s in the picture. Models aren’t the accurate portrayal of every female body so learn to respect the woman in your life for who she is, and treat her body as the wonderful icing on the cake that you both can enjoy when you treat her like the human being all women are.
