Men of Reddit, what are questions you want to ask women, but don't because they find it offensive and you don't know why?

There is starting to be good bit of research supporting the idea that gender is as complex as biological sex, which is not as binary as we live to force it to be, and likely for the same reasons. Gender may be a construct in many ways separate from sex but it makes sense that certain ways of being in the world (that are associated with specific genders in a given society) would be tied to certain underlying biological processes (specifically hormonal and neurochemical) and thus someone with a given physiology may receive more biological reward and be more comfortable engaging in behaviors associated with another gender socially and/or there may be underlying structural differences in the brain of someone who is cis versus non binary versus seeking reassignment due to severe dysmophia, which would make sense with the complexity of sex related genetics/hormonal processes/etc. Now, a large part of this is largely theoretical and more research that is not out to support a given agenda needs to be done.

I think ultimately that the things you mention in terms of sports are something we ask need to work out... But given the hormonal changes for someone who undergoes sex reassignment I wonder how far out of the general within sex variation such women are? I mean statically within sex variation in almost any given characteristic I am aware of is greater than between sex variation overall.

The talking advantage/violating privacy thing... I'm not sure what you mean? Like the whole bathroom thing? Because that's straight bullshit propoganda and, if anyone is really concerned about preventing rape, they would do better to start actually providing apps consequences for it rather than all these very prominent stories with the message that being rich or talented means you can violate a woman with no or few consequences.

I mean, ultimately, I'd rather we have to work out some new challenges or complexities than be a person who supports institutions that systematically make other people feel that they would rather commit suicide than continue to be who they are. And that's the most important aspect to me. A person is not hurting anyone by being trans, and most likely is as complex a person as all the rest of us with bad points and amazing things to offer the world. But there are some segments of the population of the world that would happily hurt them, or not stop others from doing so, simply because they are trans. And that's truly disgusting.
