Military Issues

Neat. I didn’t know fifteen was a handful.

Fifteen isn't much if that is pretty much the entirety of the the Navy.

The RCN is one of the more powerful of the world’s navies. Simple fact

It isn't a fact - you stating it doesn't make it so. The RCN wouldn't feature on a top ten list for "world not powerful navies".

You can try and hide your head under the blankets as much as you like, but we do have one of the world’s premier navies.

You don't though. The RCN is in no way a top tier navy. It is competent but it doesn't have a single aircraft carrier. Against any force that has one that is relatively modern the RCN would be consigned to guarding its shore lines. Russia has an Aircraft Carrier, and old one granted but it will give a huge advantage in any conflict just involving the Russians and the Canadians.

The only two that would be a worry to fight would be the US, who we wouldn’t fight anyway, and China. China has hull numbers, but there’d be a lot of dead Chinese sailors and they’d lose a lot more ships than we would

You really are living in cloud cuckoo land. The RCN has 15 frigates. The Chinese have 43. They also have 2 aircraft carrier. A number of destroyers and corvettes. There would be no contest. There are quite a few other countries that have a more powerful navy than the RCN.

And that is the whole point of the RCN. To make sure the rest of the world’s militaries know that the cost to fight would be too high.

Are you trolling at this point. Canada as a whole mainly relies on other countries to conduct its defence around the world's oceans. There is no shame in that. Lots of countries do it. If you aren't going to be a big player on the world stage then why fund an expensive navy when allies will do it for you.

The top tier Navies would not struggle to overpower the RCN. Russia is included in that number. Most countries cannot compete against the top tier navies. Fortunately for Canada it has many allies.

Did you know the most successful warships in Europe during World War 2 were the Swedish Sverige class coastal defence ships?

It wasn't the most successful and couldn't operate against battleships in the open water. It was designed to operate in shallow waters.

ships? They never once had to fight. That’s success. After the war German archival material showed the discussions among the top Nazis about conquering Sweden. Their conclusion was that the German surface fleet would cease to exist if they attacked Sweden.

Show me the exact line where it states this as I think you have exaggerated. Sweden wasn't invaded largely due to prominent Nazis having ties to Sweden along with the fact that an invasion would likely reduce the amount of raw materials the Nazis were getting from Sweden at the time. They also had a large standing army due to conscription and terrain that wasn't conducive to manoeuvre warfare.
