I'd heard nothing about Destiny before my (then) girlfriend got it for me as a gift the week it came out. I went into Old Russia completely blind as a Warlock. I remember two distinct moments from that first day. One was "oh, my grenade recharges? That's way better than counting ammo." The other was my first nova bomb.

I'd just fought through the dark room filled with hive, the very first hive you see. Super charged, eh? Okay, looking forward to using that. I go up the stairs and see the hive rushing the fallen. The wizard zips past as I leave the anteroom. I fling a nova at them and literally every god damn thrall, the wizard and a few dregs that were too far forward are just... Gone.

No super before or since has felt so cool as that one. I mained a voidlock for the rest of D1 because of that nova bomb. Easily one of my top 5 gaming moments.
