Why say "mostly straight" or "bicurious" or similar instead of saying bisexual?

…?

I’m seriously not understanding your point and sorry but that one line response did not help explain whatsoever.

To me it sounds like you’re saying that those other terms muddy the waters and makes it more difficult for people outside of the LGBTQ community to accept because it’s confusing.

Counter argument: my boyfriend identifies as gay but has told me that he finds women attractive and sees the beauty in them and, if him and I were to ever have a threesome with a women, he wouldn’t totally object to having sex with her.

According to your definition, he should identify as bisexual. I personally think that is wrong and that he should identify as however he sees himself. What everyone else thinks about him and his sexual identity is irrelevant.

Similar to gender expression, it does not matter how WE view a person’s gender or their expression of it, it really only matters their view of themself.
