To be fair, it's not just the left, it's just the perks of being the majority party.
The Democrats have done this numerous times since achieving their majority in 2018. They'll write a bill and call it something like The Save the Children Act.
The bill will allocate money for some children's charities or something that literally everyone agrees on, but then on like page 27 they'll shove something in there about 20 billion in aid to Himalayan goat preserves.
The opposition says no, that's ridiculous, and votes against it.
The next day every newspaper and news outlet runs the headline: Heartless Jerk Republicans BLOCK Save the Children Act.
...and again, it's not just the left that does this, I'm sure the GOP will pull some version of this crap themselves come January.
