Every country has its issues, the US is no exception, but in the vast majority of countries in this world you'd never see a black dude who fought for his country voluntarily, hug a white lady with people of all sorts of different ethnicities in the background, running a well organized marathon for fun in a bustling metropolis where 99% of people live in the top 1% of wealth in the world.

The US is pretty cool. Having some pride in it is pretty cool.

I hate that appreciating your home somehow gets conflated with being some sort of xenophobic nationalist when you're from the States. People everywhere are proud of their respective countries, as they should be.
