To my fellow Black/White mixed folks, have you ever been told by certain Black folks that you’re not allowed to speak on Black issues because you’re not fully, visibly Black?

I never understand this flawed logic.

Not black enough, not woke enough, can’t understand racism, confused.

The hypocrisy is confusing nothing else.

Most of my negative experiences around skin colour have come from individuals in the black community and my black family.

It started with not letting them touch my hair. My black family would try and use a small tooth comb and wax on my thick 3c hair. When I cried it was because I was too white.

But it hasn’t been my whole experience, there are plenty of black people that don’t agree with those Short sighted Views and that’s where you should focus your attention.

Give your contributions, ideas and support to those that acknowledge your pain too.
