My pops just gave me a sweet deal I honestly can't resist. I am a week away from graduating barber college and have a full time job as well .My father said he would sign on a new 5.0 if I payed the payment and not to worry on the insurance (as a graduating school gift ) your thoughts ?

With all due respect sir, I think in 5-10 years time you will look back and think very differently. By all means live your life as you wish, but you are talking quite big and boastful and very optimistic for a man who has just graduated, only works part time, and hasn't truly experienced all of the bills and responsibilities that come with being an adult in the world.

Your ego is causing you to make a lot of assumptions and very optimistic statements because you lack the experience to know differently.

1) You have to have a cosigner to buy a car. That means you can't afford a new car. 2) You have to accept money from your father to pay for insurance. That means you probably can't afford a new car. 3) You work part time, that means you probably can't afford a new car. 4) At some point in the future, you are probably going to want to buy a house, maybe get married, support a family. If you blow every dollar you make buying things you can't afford, you're not going to be able to afford it. 5) You think this purchase will help keep you on track and responsible. With all due respect, if you were on track and responsible, you wouldn't be buying this car. You be responsible first, and then purchase a car, not lock yourself into something hoping it's like a magic motivation tool to be responsible. 6) You claim to make good decisions, despite not knowing a terrible decision when it slaps you in the face. 7) You compare yourself to most people your age like thats an indicator of success. No. That's called attempting to keep up with the Jones' and it gets you into trouble. 8) Your ego causes you to make assumptions about how awesome your income is, compared to a random stranger because you don't like what he happens to say.

And since you want to talk big about how much you are making as a part time barber, let me knock you off your proverbial high horse a bit, because yes, I'm going to stoop to that level. I doubt it will help, because you're bound and determined that you are making smart decisions despite friendly advice.... I make $175,000. I probably pay more in taxes than you make in a year. That's a lot of haircuts, sir.

I wish you luck.
