Here’s the thing. The problem is this: “Historical accuracy”. Do you know what that is? Let me give you an example. The video-game, Call of Duty WW2 was such a bad hit, because there’s black, female soldiers, running around in German Wehrmacht uniforms, killing the allied forces.. I hope you can agree with me on this at least, that’s beyond weird, and it’s EXTREMELY historically inaccurate. That doesn’t mean the critics of the game hate or dislike black women? The exact same point stands in this argument. Of course, it is not the same severity in GoW. BUT when you are very historically interested, it does get on your nerves. The norsemen were white, their gods are described in similar manners as the people themselves. And it’s the same for many ancient tribal religions in Africa, they don’t have any white skinned gods that they worship or look up to.. Why? Because that’s just how it is, and we need to accept and respect that. There’s nothing more infuriating than when people are trying to “edit” history and culture, to make it fit a modern and more accepted viewpoint, it’s just wrong and inaccurate.
