I need to know, is AG1 by Athletic Greens bullshit or worth buying? One of my fittest friends calls it the best choices he's ever made. But he has made bad choices before, too. Are there any people here qualified to say "It's shit, just drink a fruit smoothie" or "It's perfect"?

Generally speaking these types of products are basically just an expensive way to consume a multivitamin, and people would be better off just having a One a Day or something.

That said, in looking at this product it seems that it contains essentially the ingredients you would see from a multivitamin, plus a probiotic (7.8 CFUs of the two most common I see in yogurts), plus what is essentially a "phytochemical supplement."

You can absolutely get all of this from a balanced, varied, healthful diet. However, not a lot of people get all of this regularly, and the price is a lot for a multivitamin only, but if it's going to replace an MVI, a probiotic supplement, and a phytochemical supplement it might actually be a decent financial deal too.

I'd sooner just make a green smoothie with some greek yogurt and save some big bucks, but if you're really into supplementation it seems fine.
