Negative Steam reviews for this game in a nutshell.

The point was more of the fact that he apparently hates it to death but somehow found it in himself to spend time on something he doesn't enjoy. Like... what? Is SA the only game you ever bought or something?

"Hate" is a strong word that nobody has used so far up until your comment. If I buy something, I'm going to get my money out of it. I have an addictive personality, and it's a "collect the things" game, so I can put on a podcast, not think much about it, loot up, shoot people, etc. That doesn't mean I love, or even like, the game, it's something I've spent money on, so I'm going to get something out of it if I can. I know tons of people that feel the same way. This can lead to tons of hours in the game.

From a consumer standpoint, yeah. My point was to put the slow pace into perspective. Theres a reason why its taking so long and its a good one. They're putting more workload (ergo more time, making dev time longer) for the good of the game by rebuilding the entire thing from the ground up.

Let me put it this way: Arma 3 is a bigger, badder, better game with tons more going on under the hood, and it's sold around the same amount of copies as DayZ SA. How the hell is it that A3 is running perfectly fine and well, yet DayZ is roughly around the same state it was February 2015? Additionally - mods like Breaking Point are doing everything DayZ has promised (plus much more!) by teams of 1-4 people, without getting paid to do it. That's a damned shame, is it not? "Rebuilding the entire thing from the ground up." That's an excuse I see a lot in Early Access. Look at Nether, or WarZ.

They have very clearly explained what they're doing in status reports. Apparently some people just don't like reading apparently.

I personally love reading. The Arma 3 status reports are amazing. They clearly show what's happening, how we can participate, and when to expect changes. The DayZ team has persistently shown videos, written text, and made promises that haven't even seen an experimental release almost two years down the road. They used to do those Dev Blog videos, but that hasn't seemed to happen anymore. You only needed to use "apparently" once in that sentence, for future notice.

They go into so much detail that it clearly goes over most people's heads because laymen people have no idea what they're saying. Which is really funny when the people who were incapable of understanding the in-depth development terms BI used in a status report go back onto reddit and act like they know whats best for the game and company.

You're generalizing. You're throwing a massive group of community members into one pile and labeling them. I'm actually very, very familiar with "in-depth development terms", even though there's nothing complex about BI status reports (If you know what SIT-REP means, you're in the clear for the most part). Nobody here is acting like they know what's best, except for a couple of people - yourself included -, what we're doing is venting some serious and very real complaints in a thread clearly geared towards bitching and moaning. I've read some very good feedback in the majority of comments here, and I hope BI or the DayZ team catches a look to get an idea for how the community feels. I don't care what your parents might've told you, you're not a special snowflake, and generally the majority is correct. In this case, it seems the majority would agree the progress of DayZ development is disappointing to say the least.

No guys, I hate to break it to you but hiring more programmers won't magically make BI's problems go away. As stated in the Deus Ex dev commentary.

Neither will a new renderer, like most people tend to believe it will. Did you see what happened when vehicles were implemented, finally? They're still broken as hell. I fail to see what the Deus Ex developer's commentary has to do with DayZ at all. Completely different games, completely different styles, completely different developers, released in (almost) completely different centuries.
