Nestle Waters' CEO will 'Absolutely not' stop bottling water in California, 'In fact, if I could, I'd increase it'

I wonder if "fiduciary duty" also encompassed, well you know, not being satan, if his tone would change? The salient point there is that it doesn't encompass social or environmental stewardship. Which means we're not kicking and screaming loud enough. To quote the early EDF "fucking sue the bastards". If the Primary concern is shareholder returns then let's fuck with that. Boycotts, petitions, public shameings, damage their image enough that nobody buys their stolen water. Shareholders panic when they realize the scope of the PR problem, nestle changes course and builds a bunch of desal plants? Maybe... Probably not... Big Tobacco didn't suddenly start pouring all their profits into a cure for lung cancer did they. I guess there is always the other route (the one that requires us to sign out of reddit and join the blockades)...

Nestle has been blanketed with smear campaigns for over 50 years. It does not affect their market share. They just ignore the extremists and pay the fines.

Uh, maybe in your fantasy world. All of those options have been tried and extinguished. There are a pile of fear mongering documentaries "exposing" nestle. It hasn't changed anything.

I guess there is always the other route (the one that requires us to sign out of reddit and join the blockades)...

Another option which has historically never done anything except push conservation into an edge movement.

Dude just fucking stop. We live in a real world with real people. Extremism is suicidal. Education and problem solving is the way to the future. No one will ever stop capitalism, but we can help guide legislation to protect remnant ecosystems and create value in sustainable products.
