New to panic attacks, need advice

I am truly sorry. I fully understand your pain because I went through exactly this and more back in 2010. I was 28 years old when I used to have panic attacks almost everyday, sometimes multiple times a day. I thought I had issues with my heart. I called 911 so many times and as soon as the paramedics entered, I felt better. So many times I admitted myself into the ER and as soon as I entered, my heart rate will slowly normalize and I'd feel better. I'd have a heart rate reaching to 180, my heart pounding so hard as if it will pop out of my chest. I'd experience tinging in my arms and legs, a terrible feeling in my abdomen, shortness of breath (once I almost choked), severe night sweats and a couple of times I woke up in the middle of the night with one side of my body paralyzed. Finally, I took an appointment with a cardiologist and insisted in doing every possible heart test, EKG, EchoCardio, Tread mill test, and finally a holter monitor test. I wore electrodes all over my body for 10 days for continuous monitoring. The cardiologist concluded that it is just GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and referred me to a Psychiatrist. I was prescribed anti-depressants but I wanted to explore alternate routes before taking the medication. Coincidentally, I came across a book (I don't remember the name of the book) which described the experience of a person who suffered with the same issue, much worse than me. The book turned out to be a game changer for me because it taught me how NOT to fight my anxiety and panic attacks and let it pass. Initially, it was very hard to practice the technique and I was tempted to call 911 but my cardiology results had convinced me that there is nothing wrong with my heart so I'd tell myself "let it pass, you won't die of it, it is just anxiety".. it worked very slowly and it took me several months to finally be okay. The panic attacks gradually decreased in frequency, from a couple of times a day to once a day, to a couple of times a week, then to once a week, then to once a fortnight and after about 6-8 months, it was once in a couple of months. It finally vanished after a little more than a year. I haven't had a full blown panic attack in more than 10 years, but just a couple of incidents of mild anxiety attack but overall I think I'm done with the hell I lived for more than a year almost 13 years ago.
