NintendoDreamCast Podcast - Any suggestions for how to garner more listeners?

Find forums to talk about it. I started an Adam Sandler podcast because I thought it would be funny to talk about something every episode that really didn't deserve that much discussion.

It turns out, people on Reddit (especially /r/movies) don't really want to hear about Adam Sandler, even if the discussion is interesting and not constantly repeating the same stuff about him.

Just find places to talk about it. There was a post about his new movie today that was one of the top posts for the day and I commented in there pretty early about my show. The comment got a lot of upvotes (relatively) and I hope that at least some of those people listened to my show but the truth is, they probably didn't

The comment has 425 karma right now. It has a like to my Itunes and Stitcher in it so (optimistically) 120 people clicked it. 30 of those people listened to part of an episode and moved on, 20 people finished it and didn't like it, 60 people finished it and liked it, but didn't subscribe so they'll never think about the show again, and 10 people probably subscribed to the show and will now listen as I release new episodes. Hopefully it was more than 10, but people are extremely vital if I want to build an audience.

This has all been a long rant and I'm sorry if it's pointless but it's good to talk about this kind of stuff sometimes. If you have a podcast and you're not a celebrity or known person, it might be really hard to build an audience.

Try Twitter. Start an account and follow people, retweet stuff, say funny stuff. If someone says something about a topic you know about, reply to them. If you seem interesting, maybe they'll follow your show.
