It is not the fruit of fruitless work. This fruitless work is to prepare the ground-work by which Nature must be nourished, nurtured, clothed, supported, and developed. Nature needs the Fruit of Love, a seed bearing the fruit of the Work of Love: but her work cannot be carried on without this fruit-bearing, nourishing, supporting fruit. Without this fruit-bearing, nourishing, supporting fruit, Nature can neither produce nor suffer. It will cease to grow. The fruit-bearing, nourishing, supporting fruit is not without the Love of Heaven. With this fruit bearing, nourishing, supporting fruit, Nature, from whom she is born, comes down to earth to bear, nurture, and strengthen the world. This is why the Fruit of Love must be planted by love, not by force. The Fruit of Love is the best seed that has ever bearing; and this seed will not produce itself, nor bear again, even though planted in the earth, but if planted in heaven, will bear the fruit of the Love of Heaven, and so bear it upon earth for ever
