Oct. 28-29 Too Hot to Handle ft. Hungrybox, Plup, Wobbles, Crush, HugS, Mike Haze, Swedish Delight & More

Boo hiss.

I've been making an effort to cut down on getting involved in issues like this since I bitched out TLoc too much for scheduling LTC5 over CCC2 (sorry guys), but when TLoc realized their mistake, at the very least they paid off half the venue deposit on Smash United's behalf to alleviate the financial loss involved with changing dates. It's slightly less excusable from a communication and professionalism standpoint considering we share the same state, but at least when they screwed up, they did something that kind of made it right.

PG's takin' a big ol watery dump on two smaller orgs/tournies with one fell poop, and what do they do? "Sorry you guys, hey registration's still open! Mind if we poach your big name attendees to make it even worse? BUT WE'RE SO SORRY." I get that you're not staff, and you did apologize, but you giving me an offhand apology is not going to make the turgid dick of capitalism railing my quivering boi pussy feel any less FUNDAMENTALLY DEBASING.

It's wicked mad stupes and just overall, real, real shitty and it's horrible and terrible and no-good and very bad and everyone at PG should feel like the CHOWDERHEADS they really are. I get that Florida just wants to have a good event, and that's okay. But this is the shittiest possible way it could have come to pass, and tbh even if I was a Floridian I wouldn't feel good about supporting an event that might succeed at the cost of other perfectly fine events in struggling regions that planned carefully and through the proper channels.

I'm not gonna outright call for a boycott or anything, because that would be super melodramatic and very unhelpful. If you know how this event came to be and the unfortunate parties that are being pushed around in order for it to succeed, I would think very carefully before you decide to attend it or even support it less directly by watching the stream. I LOATHE heavyhanded moralizing so it pains me to say this, but if we as a community support events like this through attendance or viewership, we are tacitly condoning this grime, and showing big orgs with deep pockets that they can get away with grime in the future, and hey, that's not very good, like, at all, even a little bit, ever, so maybe, like, don't do it? Idk bruh it's your integrity, not mine.

Side note, it BAFFLES me that Blur is silent on this issue. It was already enough a shitstorm when the efficacy of his majors calendar was called into question when CCC2 was displaced by LTC5, and now this. Why even put the effort into keeping that calendar and/or put so much stock in why it's important to have your event on it if you're just gonna sit on your hands when clusterfucks like this arise? SAD.
