I don't go to locals because they aren't worth it. Committing multiple hours on a weekday isn't feasible. Weekend locals aren't close enough for me to care. If I want to play, I'll play for like an hour on netplay before I'm done. College locals spoiled me since they were cheap, nearby, good area, easy parking, all day, and had college friends at.

For the local twitch watching question: I don't care. For local streams, since I don't show up, I don't feel invested on who is playing. It's like Red Fox who always ledgehop->sideb's on stage vs Green Marth who spams shield grabs. There is more interesting things on Twitch anyways. Mango-Axe ironmans are more entertaining than most non-major melee tournaments nowadays.
