[Off Topic] Tell me a story of a random jank brew you threw together last minute that did surprisingly well at your LGS.

Back in RTR/INN Standard, I took down Game Day with what could best be described as 4C Trade Binder. I literally took the most expensive cards at the time in WUGR (except for Jace), threw them together, and played the pile. IIRC, it was Geist, Resto, Thragtusk, Angel of Serenity, Entreat the Angels, Bonfire, Sphinx's Revelation, with Farseek for mana fixing and almost an entire mana base of shocklands.

I started off the day going 4-0, losing to some manner of Bant control in round 5. My round 5 opponent then decided to drop because it was getting late and he had another commitment. He thought that he would just draw with his round 6 opponent, so he just up and left. Since I was the highest seeded 4-1, I got paired against the only remaining 5-0. When he found out what happened, he felt that I got scumbagged (thought that my round 5 opponent should have scooped to me if he had to leave), so instead of offering me a split (which he would have normally done), he wanted to play it out.

Now this guy was one of the top five players at the store at the time, and he was playing one of the better decks in the format (can't remember exactly, the format was wide open at first). Anyways, I just steamrolled him 2-0. He had NO idea what was going on, and even at one point had his head in his hands saying "What's happening here!". I showed him the pile when we were done, and he just laughed. We both knew that the deck was a pile and literally was just a thought experiment to see how the most expensive deck in the format would fare. Well, it took game day down.

I played the deck for a few more weeks, don't think it ever went better than 1-3 at the weekly events. I shelved it and played Jund for the remainder of the format.
