The show is fine for a 14 year old. We all watched shit like this when we were that age. Well, depending on how old you are and what was allowed on TV at the time.

Just look forward to the rewatch when you get around your late 20s and a lot more of it will hit home. This show isn’t that adult, the comedy maybe R rated, but no more than something like American Dad. The only difference is that they get to drop F bombs.

What really makes this an “adult” show are the themes. Toxic childhoods and their effect on later life, deep insecurities, anxieties, etc. It’s all hard psychology wrapped up in an entertaining package. That’s the only thing you’re missing out on.

It’s like Big Mouth for people over 25.
