Yes/no. If you leave your oil and don’t change it it becomes thick and will become viscous. If you only drive electric it doesn’t matter to much however to keep the engine in good shape and not have nasty oil sitting in there I would change it. Service is every 5000 miles they will change it during the service at Chevrolet. Most services are $120 and are worth it IMO to keep the car running/lasting a long time. Especially if you do end up making those longer drives.

I know it costs more but it will work out when you hit 150,000 miles the battery dies and you have to use the engine and you have a clean running car. I get mine done with the service every 5000 miles (I have 60 mpg as of rn at 50,000 miles). It comes with the Chevrolet service so it’s very simple!
