Ok, is playing music in public a thing in India?

I really don't think so. After returning to Canada after being away for some time, I did noticed an increase in the behaviour across the board, much to my annoyance. Although I suppose the stats can be scewed due to the sheer amount of young Indians in this area, it is typically the case when I see someone listening to something without headphones here. There is also a lot of young people from China here, and playing music in public, I know for fact is a common thing in China, but I don't see the same from them. I figured there must be some cultural difference that is causing it, and I don't see anyones defensiveness over the matter. A lot of people did confirm it. I am not on some anti-Indian rant, I just figured it must be a common thing there and wanted to ask.
