Oktoberfest in Zurich?

Does Switzerland not share some things with Germany? ... being close neighbors and speaking very similar languages... Just as Geneva has a bit more French influence, I was under the impression (perhaps incorrectly) that Zurich had a bit more German influence (while still being Swiss of course). We aren't looking for a German Oktoberfest in Zurich. I think we are ok just getting a taste for a Swiss version of Oktoberfest. Unless we can be convinced that we should skip Zurich completely in exchange for going to Oktoberfest somewhere in Germany. Idk, I live in South Louisiana currently and, while New Orleans is what everyone thinks of for Mardi Gras, it is definitely not the only place to experience Mardi Gras and have a lot of fun. You can find slightly different styles of celebrating Mardi Gras season all across the Gulf Coast, from Southeast Texas to South Alabama.

Switzerland is what she wants to see on this trip. A week and a half is already not much time at all to see a country like Switzerland. We just thought it would be fun to toss that in there if we're going to be in the area. Oktoberfest definitely would not be the only thing we would find to do in Zurich.
