Top of the LES

It’s louder but it really comes down to whatever specific street you’re on. After a while you get pretty used to the noise but it never goes completely away. It’s definitely a factor to consider.

You’ll hear sirens all night, people talking/shouting all night, maybe a band or music if you’re close to a bar

One thing more annoying is the constant people. The instant you step outside they’re there. You’re walking and weaving around trying to get somewhere and they’re there for a casual stroll or pub crawl. Like everybody knows lower Manhattan is a lot of shuffle but if you’re moving from another part of the city or even another part of Manhattan it’s still surprising how instantly swarmed you are every time you go outside.
