Online Print Center (OPC)

IT has been on site multiple times. They fix the machines everything is great for a few months then there the issues return. Not related to OPC but we've had issues with our WorkCenter printer for over a year now. Can't tell you how many times we've had technicians out who fix it for a couple of weeks then it jams again. Also, it is one thing for print/normal associates to "guess" and another for them deciding not to charge for things that drive customers away. I'm sorry, but too charge a guest $2.99 plus $0.69 just because I put 1 photo on the glass is absurd and has pissed off more customers than those who are okay with it. Our CPD is up nearly 15k year over year, and I can tell you one of the key reasons is because we don't try to force our customers into finishing upgrades unless we truly think they will help with what they are printing. We focus on there needs and getting jobs done quickly and efficiently for the best price out there. It's not my place to decide pricing or how CPD should be run, that is corporate, but everyone seems to be perfectly fine with it as long as sales are up, which is really the biggest problem. The poor management on both store levels and districts is what causes for inconsistencies in pricing and store associate understanding of what is "okay" and "not okay". I went and helped not too long ago at another store our district. The Supervisor and associates kept bringing up adding binding for this printing job until the customer finally said enough and went and used the self serve machine instead of having the associates do it. But that's how we are taught to do things through the resources provide for us, the Learning Portal, Store Portal etc. Maybe I am over thinking it or am just plain wrong, but we are taught too act and say these things but then in practice you figure out that you shouldn't talk to customers like they are walking wallets, but instead just talk to them like everyday people who just want to get there work taken care of and go on with there day. Sorry for the rant, realize it's not entirely on topic for the OPC thread but just something I have noticed about Office Depot CPD/Stores in general.
