Only Black Guy in Suburban White School

I was born in NY, but raised in Florida (80s/90s), my parents being born and raised in NY. This had the effect of me being raised to speak without a southern accent. By the time I got into grade school I was very, confused at how the kids around me spoke.

It's very hard for me to take anyone seriously in an intellectual fashion when they can not speak properly. Which in the case of an educator, governmental official, or anything that would be considered intelligent position that also strikes me as odd when they speak with poor diction, eloquence, and with specific emphasis on pronunciation.

In short for me it has nothing to do with race or what not, but purely with the apparent lack of desire to communicate properly.
