OPINION: Why we should return to in-person learning

Hot take: I don't think we should have school at all until we're out of the pandemic. I'm probably biased because I'm an English major and a future educator, but I think online classes suck because there is a lot less participation with people being able to turn off their cams/mics and zone out. At the same time, in-person learning sucks because our classes are more discussion-based/ socratic circles, so having masks on muffles a lot of people's voices, sometimes stopping the flow of the conversations. If it was just lectures, or memorizing stuff, I would also prefer to do it all online. I guess I'm just lucky and actually enjoy my classes when on-campus
