Out and Gone

That is a fair point and yes there is emotion to my post. I didn't want it to come to this end if only after sheer amount of time and energy I've put into SC.

It really started with the disappearance of the Star Marine module when it was developed by Illfonic when it was "weeks not months" away. When the Kotaku dropped those months later it got me it opened my eyes that CIG and CR wasn't infallible and SC may, just may have a margin of risk to it. I also didn't appreciate when CR tried to pass the missing SM as 2.0 citing the security outpost as an "FPS area" it just wasn't the same.

After that my doubts and frustration ever so slowly crept in with their going back on minior promises involved with marketing, the ever increasing marketing push, the promising XYZ and dilvering only X and exceedingly late (even tho yes things are likely never on time in dev world)

It wasn't that things were late, its that CR repeatably would make statements just like he did with SM and miss it by miles, by so much that there is no way he was being honest, or knew what was going on either one doesn't look good.

When SM finally drop, it was a major let down with just its completely un-playability for me, even for an Alpha, I couldn't even test it. I was a private beta tester for America's Army 3, worked with Jira and Devs directly. SM was a far cry from anything we ever tested, including the alpha for America's Army Proving Grounds. It looked pretty, but functionality isn't there.

That is the main theme, SC after all these years and delays LOOKS pretty, but the core functionality of basic gameplay fundamentals just isn't there not any even proof of concept.

When Citcon16 happened with the missing SQ42 it was SM all over again. Playing up the hype train for likely marketing and then pulling out the rug only at the last possible second when no other PR option is possible.

After that we had the xmas stream, and now Gamescon which sure LOOKED pretty, no proof of core gameplay functionality. There is nothing, discounting player made experiences, that have proven to me this game is on a track of being fun and functional.

This is all my views and opinions over the years, ofc many disagree, but just know it was a very long build up where I just couldn't ignore the evidence anymore.

If the game releases I'll prob it, but the risk for the amount I was in was too high for everything I've seen in the terms of repeated mistakes.
