Over-reliance on results leading to post-match depression

Definitely find something else to focus your attention on as others have said. I haven’t really been genuinely excited to watch Arsenal since probably late 2016, and I was so detached in the second half of 2017/18.

But for the past couple years I was the same way you were. Spurs making it to the CL final, and us losing the EL final, killed me. Earlier this season when we kept losing I felt at rock bottom as a fan. I wasn’t depressed, but Arsenal/our rivals’ results were having too big an impact on my mood. Yet I couldn’t stop watching, listening to podcasts, etc.

But now that I’m on Christmas break, I’ve spent more time watching other sports. With the new Star Wars out, I’ve gotten more interested in the series. And I don’t feel so dependent on Arsenal anymore.
