I felt like i’d give you some info having lived all over Ireland and England, London specifically many times.

It depends on what you want. I had London friends or people who say they hate London when it’s 12 miles of houses packed into millions of people. You very much pick the area with a knowledge of the income and the lifestyle of that place in London. A mistake I seen is, you could have two people on the same wage at the same company, one would live in the centre of London, paying half the money in rent to get a flat, so they don’t travel, when the other might live in a more homely feel, less than an hour away via a tube that’s 2 streets away, which are way nicer than NY judging by videos.

Manchester has links to London but not fast enough for 5 days a week work (4 hour drive). I think you’d find the accent a shock as even I did and I support Manchester United, but tv studios moving there because it’s up and coming yet lower rent.

Belfast If you are in IT it is a great hub. Cheaper housing then London by a long way, nice people and city that is not as it use to be and unless you are in the wrong areas, you will grow to love and yes it has Nando’s and everything you can image lol but some huge companies like FBI international.

Further north of Manchester until you get to Edinburgh is lovely, just jobs aren’t flying around, which if you are unskilled, we have the same problem the world is having.

If you want a country house and work a trade or just a typical job that’s something available in many places in England. Say Bristol stuff below Manchester but not in the city.

The dark horse is either the coast England & Northern Ireland’s. I would say with YouTube, the accent gives away a lot, the more clear you understand it, often the nicer it is until it becomes too posh and then you know your in the wrong circle unless you watch ‘made in Chelsea’ and feel like those are your people and own a few million and plenty of horses.
