You must be new here, many defend what happened simply because they saw it and they believed it, so you must be "wrong".

You're not wrong, in that Gus made stupid decisions, but Gus consistently made one bad decision after another. That's why his face was blown off within months of meeting Walter.

You're not wrong that Mike made evil decisions, but Mike was evil, and he knew it. Mike murdered for money, for a drug lord who uses and murders children.

There are some things in the show that are inexcusable: Walt's transformation from chemist into advanced mechanical engineer. Walt's transformation from Heisenberg into Loyaltyberg. Those are the two main examples of the contrived writing.
