Why did Hank get a pass on his blatant racism?

You know Hank isn’t real, right? Who cares if someone was glad he died?

I know Reddit is one of the worst places on the internet for any sort of nuanced discussion about race, but dismissing racism as friendly banter just tells me you’ve never been subjected to it. Because if Gomey were a real person, I’m pretty sure he would rather not be called names by his partner, no matter how close they are. It’s not “overly sensitive” to expect to be treated with basic respect.

Anyway, to answer the OP’s question, I do feel like if Breaking Bad had come along any later, Hank would’ve been less dickish. Sensibilities have changed a lot in the last five years alone, largely thanks to social media.
