Penn State President strongly refutes recent Sandusky-related news reports.

i read it, but i don't see where any of the courts opinion were addressed, mostly just some hand waving and pointing fingers at the media, imo.

here's a comment originally by /u/mediuqrepmes about the court opinion of an isurance comapny vs PSU on May 4, 2016 from here.

Yikes. Most relevant excerpts:

The line in question states that one of Penn State's insurers has claimed "in 1976, a child allegedly reported to PSU's Head Coach Joseph Paterno that he (the child) was sexually molested by Sandusky."

The order also cites separate references in 1987 and 1988 in which unnamed assistant coaches witnessed inappropriate contact between Sandusky and unidentified children, and a 1988 case that was supposedly referred to Penn State's athletic director at the time.

Jesus fucking christ.

EDIT: Deadspin has a copy of the full court decision.

From page 4:

PMA claims Sandusky committed several acts of molestation early in his career at PSU: in 1976, a child allegedly reported to PSU’s Head Football Coach Joseph Paterno, that he (the child) was sexually molested by Sandusky; in 1987, a PSU Assistant Coach is alleged to have witnessed inappropriate contact between Sandusky and a child at a PSU facility; in 1988, another PSU Assistant Coach reportedly witnessed sexual contact between Sandusky and a child; and also in 1988, a child’s report of his molestation by Sandusky was allegedly referred to PSU’s Athletic Director.2

The footnote at the end of that paragraph reads:

  1. These events are described in a number of the victims' depositions

This information lends credibility to the story, as it involves "a number" of depositions, not just a single court filing by the insurance company.
