People browsing Reddit on a Friday night: Why?

Although it's technically still daytime here (PST) and I'm at work I can already assume I will be browsing reddit tonight. Why you ask?

I was dating this girl and hanging out with a crowd of people that all did VERY irresponsible things. Well, to me at least. Most of these people had very little responsibilities due to their parents having money (nothing wrong with that, but I unfortunately do not have this luxury).

The girl I was seeing had no job and "modeled" on social media. There were nights where I would literally tell myself "why the fuck are you even here?" But as they say, some girls will take up all of your time and attention because you find them insanely attractive. Who says that? No idea, I just made that up.

But anyways, most of the time these people were doing coke and drinking until 5am literally every night of the week and since I don't do coke and don't like drinking until 5, I was literally wasting my time.

I have a career and a regular 9-5 job so keeping up with this crowd was insanely difficult and also very stupid to even consider.

So the other night I kind of just realized how stupid I was being and decided to be responsible. I stopped talking to that girl and have pretty much decided to disappear and focus on myself. I want to keep moving forward (upwards?) in my career and eventually move out of this city.

It kind of sucks because I feel like I have to start back at square one but I am easily distracted with fun times so I literally have to cut everyone out of my life for the time being. I am not looking forward to doing this but if I'm being honest with myself, this is what I need to do even though I'm going to feel like I'm missing out on a bunch of stuff with that girl and the party crowd.

Oh well.

Sorry for the drawn out answer.
