Xtreme games are where good players are going to be farming and since every grab is an elimination it's a useful skill to learn to use and watch out for. Most people are not very sneaky about grabbing they will run straight towards you, instead of running forward, or be camping near a jumping point. There's lots of different ways to counter them depending on the situation.

If you notice anyone is going to grab or you think they might just don't jump immediately and try to get away from them. Everyone runs the same speed so force them to "pop" a grab to push you away or "pop" them away with a grab from the side/back. You can bait out the grabs and jump around near the edge until you get safe distance from them.

In situations where distance isn't an issue (i.e. jump showdown) jump sooner than you need to so you either have time to jump again or you clear the bar with a dive before you land. Someone camping the end of slime scraper? Grab them from the front and push them back using the conveyor's momentum. They will either fall or have to react/defend your attack giving you opportunities.
