I’m not sure how team logistics work and whether or not TGR wanted to make his spot a permanent seat to contend for the Manufactures’ Championship. On the other hand it could’ve been they wanted him whole and not just for one race, but it’s all speculation because I’m not too familiar with the situation he had.

In IndyCar it’s a bit different with Zak wanting Alonso to achieve his goal and being A-Okay with FA running the 500, and the 500 only. Considering they have Oliver Askew and Pato O’Ward which are both high calibre drivers the dynamics just run a bit different imo but I could be wrong, who knows.
