Go watch an onboard of 2014 vs 2013. Every corner they’re going flat out on, they’re power limited. Every corner they’re not, they’re grip limited. At low speeds, that’s mechanical grip which comes from the chassis. At medium and high speeds, that grip comes from the aero. You’ll notice the cars in 2014 are taking a lot more corners flat out, yet are going slower. Why? Because they were no longer aero limited, but power limited, and power dropped off significantly.

But yes, people who weren’t watching back then like to make things up. It wasn’t long ago where everyone knew the 2014 cars were power limited and would say so, now people are spreading lies to suit a desired narrative.
