Are these the same people complaining? A standing restart in that race would be a much bigger fuck up than it was anyway. People aren’t complaining because of the chaos of the restart. They are complaining because the race director pulled a red flag out of his ass because they felt they could manufacture a crazy ending to the race. Precisely because FOM loved Abu Dhabi 2021, and would have it happen every week if they could.

Same reason they called a safety car for Stroll DNF in Saudi Arabia. Because they think people don’t like regular racing enough and would rather they bunch the field up for no reason. It’s the opposite direction they went when they came up with the virtual safety car, but maybe they want a totally different crowd watching the races.
