You're only thinking on one side of the coin, not both.

As of now, if you try to do Kallis at 520 - 530 light, that knight is a huge threat. If it spawns and you don't stun it properly or start shooting at the right time, it will kill you within a few seconds. This gives more thinking and reflexed to that single enemy. It's a threat to you and you need to kill it to open the door.

At 550+ light, the knight can be taken down by whisper or ikelos before it even has a chance to hit you and is no longer a threat... making opening a door for the team wipe, almost trivial.

We're not talking about a strike boss here, we're talking about aspects of an encounter.
