Is phantom about to become the worst class?

Arrow Blaster nerf is more of a nerf to Arrow Blaster than to Phantom, that skill is a real problem in the meta of the game.

Final Cut is a nerf to Dual Blades as they are arguably the most popular thief class. DB clearly outshines Shadower that it's not even funny, it's actually sad that Shadower exists in the wake of DB. DB trashed Shadowers in almost every way when it comes to DPM that I really think making a Shadower right now is absolutely pointless unless you love the class. This is also a needed nerf and is not directed towards Phantom, it more for the health of the meta of the game.

The Mille Aguilles nerf is really the only true nerf to Phantom. At this current state in the game, Phantom is a better Corsair than Corsair by miles. Your support buffs outshine Corsairs in parties, your damage buffs almost double your damage compared to Corsairs, your survivability is better than Corsair, and even your mobility options are better than Corsairs. This nerf is a nerf to Phantoms, but also serves to maintain a healthy meta.

This leads to a topic that I say several times and will almost always say for the rest of Maple's existence. I'm going to say this all because after reading the comments on this thread I think it needs to be stated.

Play a class you enjoy because you really enjoy it, not because you want to deal the most damage.

Over the history of the game, there have only been two classes that really maintained their position as "great DPM": F/P Mage and Hero. The other classes were either not designed to be in the position they are in for the DPM charts today or received enough love/hate from Nexon to be where they are today. As time goes on, other classes will move up and down the tier charts based on patches, which are Nexon's attempt at creating a healthy metagame that is not solely dominated by WHs and Arans and Kannas and Phantoms and BMs. Do they do a good job at it? Maybe, maybe not. If you want to deal the most DPM, you will be in for a world of pain and lost time if you pick a class solely due to it's DPM.

Maplestory is a super casual game. The regular servers are P2W and we are playing a game where our characters are chibis and some people spend entire days lounging around in Henesys being pretty. If you are so worried about DPM that it affects the time and commitment you put into a class and makes you want to quit, then MS is not the right game for you. For a super casual game like this where there is really not competition and PVP, and especially so for Reboot, don't worry about damage.

What you should worry about is playing the class you enjoy, having fun, and playing the game because it's fun, not to have it be an endorphins releaser and see huge numbers. Yes, a great goal for all of us is to see huge numbers, but it's not WHY we play a game.
