Quit thinking you need Apple products to produce music!

It's all about the specs man! CPU and system RAM probably being the most important. You want a CPU with at least 6, but preferably 8 cores that can at least reach a clock speed of 4GHz on all cores. Makes sure your system RAM is a minimum of 16g, dual channel (2x 8gb sticks)/

Classes of CPU, i.e "i5" , "i7", etc. means nothing except higher clock speeds.

I know you're on a budget, but there's a way to get the specs you require without breaking your bank, mostly. Just have to research. DM me if you need a hand and I'll get back whenever possible as I work a lot and am busy otherwise.
