They're not going to remake the pilot. I feel like they're just going to make the pilot non-canon and restart from an entirely separate episode one.

The pilot was co-written by somebody no longer involved with the show, stars a ton of VA's and musicians who are no longer involved with the show, will have a visibly different hotel design from the pilot, and the pilot itself was created when many aspects of the show were still being figured out.

Not to mention that A24 is marketing this show not towards the small internet fandom, but rather the much larger mainstream audience who has never heard of the show before and thus has no prior knowledge of the pilot or anything else (or only saw it once and never thought about it again).
