The plot of Batman v. Superman

I have a fairly different take on this.

I believe Superman is going to be aligning himself with the US government in a small way. Helping respond to disaster zones, preventing satellites from crashing, etc. I don't think he has a little "army" like you suggested, I just think that's a result of him visiting a military installation to receive orders/requests, and the solider's are just in fucking awe. The goal of Superman is to just be fucking accepted. Doing the odd thing for the government keeps them from snooping down too hard, and its good PR. He wants to be a good person, and foreseen as such.

While TDKR is heavily used as source material, I cant imagine DC deciding to start this new franchise at the fucking end. I believe we're going to see Batman mid-career, and not coming out of retirement for this. We may get some story that he's been operating in the shadows for years, without anyone really getting a look at him (hence the lack of references to him in The Man of Steel). This is the "Dawn of Justice" since Batman is going to be coming into the light to fight Superman (in addition to the myriad of other reasons the subtitle works). You can't really have a fight with Superman without people noticing. Batman is "coming out", but he has to. His hand has been forced.

That shot of Ben "looking" at his costume, is, in fact, him looking at his little Batcave screens, seeing footage of Superman's god-like powers (that little bit where it appears he's debating to put on the costume is just trailer cutting magic, and those shots won't be used in the same way in the movie). He's not happy, because if this Superman guy ever did go rogue, nothing appears to be able to stop him. Batman needs a plan for everything. So he starts a fight with the hopes of finding out what the hell this guy's weakness is, if there is one. I think the fight will involve Batman throwing spaghetti at the metaphorical wall that is Superman's chest to see what sticks.

I think we're going to get through the Batman vs Superman fight in the second act of the movie. The third act will, inevitably, involve Batman and Superman sigh teaming up to take out something that Lex has done/controlled/devised/whatever. This may also include WW and Aquafresh, not sure about that yet.
