First of all, what a terrible time for us in N. America to watch the game, especially the east coast. I would have stayed up if I were on the west coast
So I just recorded the game and turned my phone off and watched it as if it were live
First of all, if you guys can remember in the first 10 minutes of the game something very unusual happened, and it was Ronaldo tracking back like a mad man to dispossess the Granada player. When I saw that I thought to myself.. Ronaldo means business today, and boy was I happy to see that!
Before I start talking about the positives let me just get the negatives out of the way. We let Granada get way too many shots on goal, and the 2nd worst part about the game today was that we conceded.
The WORST part about today was Chicharito. **** my LIFE. Carlo just had to ruin the potential for a double digit win by introducing this terrible excuse for a footballer. He is SO bad. It frustrates me like crazy. There was a play where Chicharito had TWO players to his right and he makes the pass straight to the defender oh my God why did you do this Carlo WHY! Benzema was on a hat trick!!!!!
Now the good:
Good pass by Kroos to Bale but Bale does very very well to keep possession and round the keeper and put it in. Great confidence booster.
Next goal, we have James making a GENIUS pass back to Ronaldo which pulled 3 defenders away and gave Ronaldo all the space needed to put it in the back of the net. Great play by James, this was one of the things we were missing.
Third goal was a very opportunistic finish by Ronaldo but he did what he does best!
Fourth goal was just crazy, out of nowhere. Thank God for the terrible Barca B keeper. That shouldn't have been a goal but I ain't complaining
Fifth goal was all Marcelo! What a pass by him to Bale, then Bale unselfishly to Ronaldo to give him his super hat trick early on.
Sixth goal was a great play by Benzema, chests it down and blasts it with the outside of his foot, then similarly in the 7th goal he chests it down but goes around the defenders to score his brace.
After this, the Chicharito sub happened.. and the game went to shit.
Ronaldo could have easily scored 3-4 more, it was crazy!
8th goal own goal, had he let it go it would have been Ronaldo's 5th, and then late in the game, Modric with a free kick to find Ronaldo to give him his first ever 5 goals in a game.
Hala Madrid!!
