Yeah I can agree with that. Was just asking bc I had a minor snowshoe police incident this weekend. Had mine on my back coming down a moderate grade. Nothing crazy technical, but took them off for a little technical part and decided to keep them off until the descent stopped (between peaks) and got a comment about why I wasn't wearing my snowshoes. Nothing too aggressive but still made me wonder if I'm in the wrong.

The snowshoe fanatics always project onto everyone else what they think you should be doing. But I feel justified in I'd prefer not to take a fall just so some hardo can feel better that I didn't leave a few holes in the trail. Agreed its best to not posthole when you can help it and wear shoes where appropriate but I just don't see why everyone is so aggressive about postholing on non-ski trails.
