Potential 1st Timer, a lot of questions

  1. Yes, ticket prices are in CAD
  2. Last year tickets didn't sell out (I believe they saw about half the capacity of the festival show up on the weekend which was awesome for lines, crowd sizes etc.) Because of the late line-up announcement and the amount of people who went last year I wouldn't expect it to sell out this year, though you may miss out on some of the cheaper tiers if you wait around for too long. I've never done the payment plan but had a friend do it last year and he was a fan of it. In terms of fees, this year I bought early bird tickets with camping ($318) and was charged $19.97 for a service fee and $16 for a delivery charge (yours may be more expensive because you're out of the country? I wouldn't know.)
  3. Pemberton is the nearest town, it's about a 5 minute drive from the parking but it's quite a small town. Whistler is also decently close (maybe half an hour away.) Last year they were pretty strict about no in-and-out privileges for cars, meaning that once you were parked you couldn't drive your car out and come back in. That being said, I had friends run out of liquor on the second last day and they just hopped one of the shuttles running into town to pick some up. If you're driving in I'd recommend stopping in Squamish or Whistler on the way up to stock up on food & booze, though the Walmart in Squamish was pretty picked over by the time we got there on Thursday morning last year.
  4. Last year they let people camp starting two days early because they announced an additional few "warm-up" acts for Thursday night. I expect you'll be allowed to camp the night before again this year. You'll definitely be allowed to camp the last night as well.
