Protestors are booking tickets to the Pope and not using them | Buzz.ie

According to numerous sources, a number of our state resources are going to this, this is just a list of things I've heard:

  • Guards are being relocated from other units (gang crime I think?) for security on the Pope.

  • RTE, our state television, is actively promoting tickets.

  • A significant number of homeless people, currently residing in emergency hotel accommodation, are being relocated for the sake of people attending from outside of the City.

  • A incredibly large portion of money (20 million or something?) is being used to pay for it. (However apparently this is coming from donations for the most part, so guess you can ignore this one.

The Pope here has recently said something against same-sex marriage, implied that abortion is like the holocaust, that trans people are a sin against God's Design (equating them with Nuclear Weapons).

We also need to keep in mind that just because a significant number of abuses from the Church has stopped within Ireland, it doesn't mean all of it has stopped, as we saw in that article a while back about in some place like Argetina(?).

I would accept the 'You're just denying people who want to go' as an answer except for all of the above. A lot of it is unfair to many people who this event will affect, not just past survivors of abuses.

(This is assuming any number of issues listed above are factual and correct, otherwise feel free to ignore).
