These posts make me cringe so hard. It's like children giving out about a parent behind their back. Or even worse, it's like sports fans who simply cheer when things are going well, and then start getting nasty when they lose.

Some ppl seem to genuinely think that politicians can simply choose to make everybody wealthier (there is a small truth to this, but wealth will never be free unless we become a super power somehow!).

We have been voting for politicians who work at bringing business into Ireland since forever. That is the very basis of our economy, we hardly even put any effort into tourism any more.

This will always amount to a risky economy, as we are completely dependent on foreign investment.

I would love to see us prioritise a circular economy here, and put more effort into making foreign investment "stick", rather than flow in and out. But the truth is that I have no idea of the implications that would have, and we have very little real political debate in this country. All we seem to get is "Those guys who tied my wealth into the Western economy are crooks!!!"
