I chose an elementalist as my first toon. I like the way spells looked when casted. I always play ranged classes in any game and was familiar with Mage. I was primarily WvW. I was dead set on one class only. I for some reason refused making alts aside from storage toons. I was so against necro because I despise bugs and minions look like creepy bugs. I swore I'd never make one not eve an alr storage. Year or so later I was convinced by some friends and seeing some videos of WvW zodin Tsuki play guard Mesmer I finally caved to level them.

I ended up loving them and retired my ele for good. HoT came and I thought that reaper with GS was badazz and went against my grain and made one. I convinced myself that as long as I play a non minion build I'll be ok. I currently play necro /chrono as my main 2 classes and absolutely love them both. Wooden potatoes did a million minion Mancer video showing how funny necro could be and from that I gave in and use rise. That's about how far I'll go with bugs/minions hehe

Looking back I wish I had tried all classes at start. Live and learn
