[Question] First year league is doing keepers, what rules does your league have?

  1. Keeper Rules

6.1. Each owner must keep a minimum of two (2) players and may keep a maximum of four (4) players for the next season. (Here on described as ‘keeper(s)’)

6.2. A teams keepers must be declared by August 1 each year. A reminder email will be sent out by the commissioner before hand.

6.3. Owners that fail to declare their keepers by the deadline will pay a $10 fine on the draft day which will be added to the prize pot.

6.4. Owners will lose the draft spot, plus one (1), equivalent to what their keeper was drafted at originally. For example, if Player A was drafted in the 4th round the previous year, the owner would lose his 5th round pick the following year if they chose to keep them.

6.5. The exceptions to rule 6.4 are as follows:

6.5.1. If a keeper player is retained for an additional year, the draft pick that is lost increases each year by one round. For example, If Player A was drafted in the 4thround in year 1, the owner would lose his 5th round pick in year 2, the 4th round pick in year 3, the 3rd round pick in year 3, and so on.

6.5.2. If a keeper was retained through a trade, the current owner will lose the draft spot, plus one (1), equivalent to what the original owner drafted the player at. 6.5.3. If a keeper player was retained from a pick up off the waiver wire, the owner will lose the last draft spot they have available (15th round by default, unless already taken).

6.6. If an owner is keeping multiple players that would result in losing the draft pick from the same round, they will lose the draft pick for that round, as well as the next round. For example, If Player A was drafted in the 4th round, and Player B, acquired through a trade, was also drafted in the 4th round, the owner would lose their 5th and 6th round draft picks the following year.

6.7. If an owner trades a draft pick that would have been forfeited as a result of keeping a player, they will lose the draft pick in the following round. For example, if an owner trades their 2nd round draft pick, and chooses to keep a player that would have resulted in them losing their 2nd round pick, they will lose their 3rd round instead.
